Shoeholic

I've been using this slot lately so I feel like this baby deserves a decent post.
Its a caged pair of heels from VNC. VNC is one of my favorite brands since I was in college. I love their shoes because of the stylish and comfortable design, and reasonable price.

I saw this specific design last year. It was actually one of my choices when I exchanged my gift certificate from VNC.So when I saw them on sale last month, I knew I had to get them even though I already purchased 2 shoes on sale from another store the previous day.

Would you believe I just got them for Php500 even though it was originally priced at around Php2,500?! I was so tempted to get another one in black but I stopped myself since the other pair I got previously was a bit similar to this design only in black.

Hi I'm Nori and I'm a shoeholic.

COLOR BLOCKING for the Not So Brave

The Color Blocking trends has been all over the place recently. If you are not familiar with it, think skittles and m&m's color palette.

Not everyone is brave enough to pull off this trend though.
If you want to jump in the bandwagon but you don't want to be all out, I suggest you start with a bag.
Yes, a bag. Candy Bags have been famous these days and its something that I think you should have in your closet.

Even if you are just wearing your t-shirt and jeans or your little black dress, a splash of color courtesy of the candy bag will add magic to your look.

We specifically love this Color Block Candy Bag from LMDV.

Yellow and Red reminds us of Happiness and Passion. This bag will really put a smile on your face and express your fashion. Just for Php550.00, this is definitely worth it.

BOAT SHOES

I finally bought my pair. Instead of regular boat shoes I decided to get a boat shoes inspired espadrilles. Its really perfect for summer. If you want this pair, I'm selling it at Php800.00. Proceeds will go to our Non-Profit Organization, Fuse.

Below our some inspirations on how I'd wear them.

I'm bringing it to my trip to Palawan this weekend. I have to wear something casual, stylish and lightweight. I won't be able to use my new luggage bag because we are off camping! Yes, we are participating in the Tribal Youth Camp as counselors/teachers. We are totally excited but a bit anxious. We even bought Anti Malaria medicines. I drank my first tablet last night. Its better safe than sorry. Please pray for our safety :D

Weekend Fiasco

How was your weekend?
Mine was a crazy one!
I was planning to rest Friday night and the whole Saturday. I was looking forward to fixing my room and update my blog. I was excited to have my Me time.

Unfortunately there was a fiasco at work that started Thursday Night. We thought it will be okay by Friday Night. To our dismay it extended until Saturday. We had no choice but to go to work on a Saturday even though we went home really late last Thursday and Friday.

To de-stress, I did some shopping.
I visited Topshop and found this dress on sale.
I've been looking something like this for a long time since I can't afford this one. To my surprise it was on sale for Php599.00. It was several sizes too big though. But I don't care. I'll just have it adjusted or I'll probably wear a belt. This one really made my day.

Time for some outfit post.
The black sweetheart cut with lace detail is a bazaar find. The gray Mossimo skinny pants was a gift from my sister.Shoes was the one I got from Forever 21.

VNC SALE ALERT

For shoe addicts like me, this is probably one of the greatest news to start our year!

Might drop by later :)

New Loots Part 1 (Forever 21 Edition)

So last week, I was able to drop by Forever 21. I've been meaning to checkout their items on sale for almost a month now. Good thing I finally did and got these babies.

I grabbed a pair of black heels for Php759.00! I though to myself, this can't get any better than that.
Then I saw the sign Buy 1 Take 1. I grabbed this lovely sling bag. I think this is the last piece. I was thinking of getting a different bag but I remembered my sister. Since she gave birth to her child, she doesn't spend much on herself now. She usually shops for her baby. And i thought this will be a perfect gift for her. I already gave her a gold sling bag last, last week. But who can say no to this bag!

True enough she loved it! The great thing about it is that she thought it was really expensive. The original price is Php1500 then it was marked won to Php875 and then to Php699. In reality though, I got it for free since I already purchased the heels. What a great deal! I am so tempted to go back for more! :D

On a High

After depriving myself from buying shoes for a month or two, I finally decided to buy a new pair.
Originally, I was planning to buy oxfords from Ichigo. Unfortunately, the design that I wanted was no longer available. I decided to drop by SM to see what shoes they have. I wanted to get a pair of wedges but I wanted to stay on budget. Then I chanced upon the shoe above. It was love at first sight.
O what joy it brought me!

I've been using it the whole week. Its my shoe of the moment.
This baby is 5 inches high! I don't think I ever bought a pair this high. Actually, I still have to check my VNC that I got last month. I think they're about the same height.

Anyway, I wore it with our gray stewardess-like uniform about 2 days ago. And to my surprise, the reaction I got from men were quite weird. Some glance and others stare. Not a good stare. An intimidated stare. Then I realized, wearing those heels made me stand 5ft. 7 inches tall. Most of the men I passed by became shorter than me. My brother said that was natural because men gets intimidated with tall, well-dressed women. Actually 5'7" is not that tall but still I got the reaction.

Weird, but I'm loving it. I enjoyed the feeling of being in control. Its another confidence booster just like the body con dress I talked about earlier.

News Flash: BoC Eyes P700-M Revenues from Legal ‘Ukay-Ukay’

I've read about this from Manila Bulletin 2 days ago:

BoC Eyes P700-M Revenues from Legal ‘Ukay-Ukay’

Being a frequent Ukay shopper, it has never occured to me that Ukay is ilegal.
Why?
Quoting Davao Rep. Karlo Nograles who is also unaware that it is illegal:
“ukay-ukay” shops could be seen in almost all commercial centers in the country."

I have positive and negative reaction toward the said Ukay Tax being proposed.
Positive, I am happy because it will be legalized. I am not comfortable doing something illegal and I am not comfortable stopping buying from Ukay-Ukay too. Bulk of the clothes inside my closet are from such stores.
Negative, does this mean ukay clothes will be highly priced now?  Being the kuripot that I am, this really bothers me. Ukay stores located here in NCR already have high priced ukay stores. They sell dresses around Php180. I ca buy a brand new pair for that price. Considering that they are not properly cleaned. If it is properly cleaned and sorted, I would be willing to pay higher than that.
.
So give me your thoughts fellow thrift shoppers

WORK IT!

Casual Fridays at work again.

Well, I'm off to the Collective at Malugay later to have my favorite Seafood Pomodoro  at Pasta Box with my friend Pei.

While waiting for here, I tried via my Nokia E63, but it was an epic fail. Hehe..

So here's what I wore, jeans from Human. I love jeans from Human, they're lovely and cheap. :) They're on sale by the way. I'm thinking of getting a grey pants just for Php499.

And I got this thrifted D&G Knitted cardigan with built in sheer florat scarf. I love it! Just for Php149! Its authentic, I checked the tag ;) Well I hope it is. Even if its not, its still lovely for its price :)

Weekend's coming soon again. A long weekend at that. What are your plans?

Put a ring on it!

No, I did not get engaged last weekend.
Instead, I met up with Anna or Anagon Accessories to buy the rings I reserved.I got a black amulet ring, a black ribbon ring, a peach rosette ring and a brown camera ring.

This reminds  me, my ring collection is quite growing now. All other rings are from Crystal Catx. If you'd like to buy them, you can leave a comment here.

I know it has been the trend lately to pile on rings.

This is what I am wearing now...

Lovely rings :)

The Package

Look what arrived today...

Its a package from Bestie. I purchase 2 skirts from her store and I love it! I'm actually excited to wear them. Although, I might give the purple skirt to my sister even if I super love the chain detail. She super loves purple and I think she deserves it for being a loving mom to her 3 months old daughter Maia, my niece.

New Hair Day

Went to the salon today and finally was able dye my hair. It has been 3 months overdue. Anyway, I'm loving my hair right now. After wards, my beau and I went to Megamall and take advantage of the sale season. This time he'll be the  one doing the shopping. We ate at Karate Kid. It was my first time to try it there and it turns out its like a fusion of sango and tokyo tokyo. And also, I visited F21 again. The first time I went there, I wasn't able to buy anything. And this time... I got a pair of shades! Its very similar to the one I wanted at Charles and Keith last summer. It was too expensive for my budget so I didn't buy it. Well that turned out to be a good thing because this baby that I got now is Php368.00 cheap ($8).

So here's what I wore today. I was feeling urban so I wore this gray Vneck Terranova top and paired it with thrifted harem pants and heels from Trunkshow.

So how was your weekend?

GLORIETTA's Midnight Madness Sale

I think I need to stay away from malls this weekend.
Why? Well, there's another crazy sale that's going to happen this weekend at Glorietta.

Perhaps I should still drop by. I might find a white bag perfect for my mom. I just hope I'll just get that. I've been shopping too much lately. Must resist sale.

Any tips on how to resist sale?

EASTWOOD SALE

When I started this style blog, I wanted to capitalize on the fact that you can be stylish without spending too much. Hence the name Style Economics,

I will have to admit that I am sort of veering away from that making this just the usual style blog that you see or read. So I'm turning my wheel towards the original path. I will try my best to blog sales and where you can find inexpensive items.

In relation to that, let me remind you that Eastwood Mall will have a sale this coming weekend.
Yipee!

So if you don't have any plans yet, better head to the upper east side.

Yipee!
Ever since I left the lovely down south, Eastwood has been my favorite place here at the upper east side. I sound like gossip girl. LOL. Seriously, I love this mall. Its near our place. 20 minutes drive and Php120 taxi fare ;)

So what mall do you love alot?

Beige Lace-ups

Summer is over and Fall is here.
I know I should have bought black since its Fall already. This is the other pair of shoes I got from Trunk Show last week. Even if I wanted to get black, I can't buy shoes of the same color at the same time.

Anyway, I know I'll be able to use it. Actually, I already did. I was just too lazy too take a photo of the outfit. Wearing this is time consuming though. The zipper at the back is not enough to get it on or off. I still have loosen the laces. Can you imagine how hard that is?

Anyway, how did you survive the recent weeks? Sale has been all over the place and there's another on coming...

For people down south, there will be an upcoming sale at ATC! Crazy, I know.

Fierce- Black and Buckle

Fall is here again. After doing some shoe research, buckles are back.

I got this pair from Trunk Show and they are on sale! Crazy. I just proved my previous blog right.  Its hard to save money during the sale season.

So what are you waiting for, grab a pair at Trunk Show now!

Saving up will be extra hard this month

Saving up for our Coron trip next month will be harder than I thought.
Why?
Its the SALE season!

Stores are getting ready to launch their Fall Collection so they need to clear their inventory and let go of thos items. And I am so willing to take them all! LOL

Just last Friday I bought a pair of clogs from Ichigo.

They are so lovely. I am admiring the detail on the heels. The great thing about is, I got it for just Php450!

I have several items I want from Ichigo and Trunk Show.
This is so hard.

Ad also just last Sunday, I saw Payless Shoesource at Festival Mall Alabang! I almost went in when I saw all the shoes inside. Good thing I realized that they were still closed and saved myself from shame. LOL.

How are you coping up with the Sale season?

LBF: Little Brown Flats

Since I love to wear shades of brown a lot, I've been wanting to buy brown flats for a long time now. To be more specific, I want it to be more on the yellow, tan side like burnt sienna I think. I also prefer oxfords. Anyway, I spotted one before but I let it go and since then the craving started. Don't you hate that when it happens. I saw a couple of oxfords but I find it too expensive for my budget. So last week I spotted a burnt sienna ballerina flats at Robinsons. The price is perfect, its just that its not my size. I dropped by again this weekend hoping that they'll have a stock for my size. They still don't have it. Usually I'm a 5-6. I tried on 5 but its too small. I checked out the 6 from other colors and it fits me ok. But then I tried on size 7 and its perfect. I like to move  my toes inside my shoes so the 2 finger allowance for the size 7 gives me that. Perfect. I'm so happy now. No more shoe shopping for now. I'm off to Coron by the end of August and I need to save up for the trip. We already  booked our airplane. Yipee! So excited.

This is the pair I was talking about. The brand is Punkberry. I'm planning to get black snake skin ballerina flats with gold studs in the future. Its just Php400!
I'm still testing its durability so I'm wearing it for the whole week. So far so good. Its not slippery unlike the Korean flats I bought before.
