Bows & Hearts, Teacup and French Cookies

One effective way of relieving stress is by counting your blessings and appreciating the smallest of things. Here are some things I got that made my week.

I needed new lining for my shoes and it was a treat to find printed ones.
Now they feel like new on my feet . :)

Found this cute store near my office selling lovely porcelains.
I wanted to buy jars and napkin holders but I settled for a teacup and saucer set in the meantime.
Will be back for more next time :)

French Cookies :)
They're really not from France but the thought of eating them makes me feel warm inside :)

How about you?
What small things made your week?

Sun through my windows

Noticed my new header?
Well I just wanted something related to my blog name so I played with the sun peeking through my windows.
Playing with the sun is my new habit. :D And I love it.

Happy Weekend!

Picnic

I am suffering from severe colds right now which is making my body weak, tired and my mind bored.
So I'm trying my best to cheer up myself with happy thoughts.

And this is the first thing that came into my mind.

Star Von Bunny

After Fifi Lapin comes Star Von Bunny.

As you know, I love rabbits. I was born in the Year of the Rabbit, making 2011 my year, LOL. I used to have pet rabbits and I collect rabbit books and stuff toys for my future child.

Anyway, I was thrilled to find another fashion blog showcasing a rabbit.

Back from a Hiatus

When I say hiatus, I mean almost from everything. I took a leave from work and the internet for a week.
Well, I did post a Christmas Greeting and New Year Greeting on Facebook since it was too hard to send SMS during the holiday season. Good thing we got WiFi at home now. Yipee!

Going back, I didn't even get to update my blog or post a greeting here.
I was planning to post a schedule greeting here but I totally forgot about it.
Sorry Guys!

So what have been I up to this last week of December?
Well, when the world was busy with Facehunter, I decided to go to Prayer Mountain in Antipolo. As much as I wanted to attend the Facehunter event, I decided to end and start my year right. It is a yearly activity with my friends where in we take time to reflect on what happened the past year. It is also a time to pray about what will happen the coming year. It is sort of dedicating the year to Him and knowing His vision for my life this year. He gave me Jeremiah 29 and received a word of abundance for this year.

That's why even though I don't have much to start the year, I hold on to His word that He will make my life bountiful. Yipee!

Aside from that, I also cleaned my closet and my room. I'm not completely finish with it. But it was a big improvement. I need more decluttering so really hope I'll be able to have a garage sale this month. I need to get rid of my stuff :)

Anyway, how was your holiday?

INNO SOTTO'S MUSE - Videos | StyleBible.ph

When I was younger, the first designer that I have been aware of was Inno Sotto. I have always admired his classic style. Congratulations to Inno Sotto as he cele brate his 30 years in the industry.

Heart is so lucky to be his muse.
I'm so in love in the gowns in the short film below:

How I look forward to the day that he will design my wedding dress.
A girl like me can only dream.

The Shift

I don't know if you guys noticed, I changed the title of my blog, my header and even my blog url. From Style Economcis, I'm moving to StyleEco. Organizing the Brown Bag Market made me realize alot of things. If before, I am only testing the water of EcoLiving, now, I'll be embracing it more.

I know it won't be an easy change. I will need to get out of my comfort zone. I also know that it will be worth it because it will be the benefit of our environment and the generations to come.

Another Social Casualty...

I don’t seem like it but I’m a very frank person, most especially to the one closest to me.
I don’t like to candy coat things. Truth hurts. End of discussion. Period.
It was never my intention to hurt, offend or anything. And even though I try so hard to portray that I am a tough cookie, I am not.
Whenever I release those words and my loved one gets so  crushed by it, it pains me twice. I always end up wishing I can take back everything I said.
“I’d rather be a mystery than she (he) deserts me. Oh I’m never speaking up again, starting now….”
This is an epitome of how I feel every time.
Sometimes I get scared of uttering even a word. I vow never to say anything. But in my conscious effort to think before I speak, I over think and I start another cycle of regret.
John Mayer is a brilliant writer, I’ve been listening to him for around 10 years now (since I was in high school and I’m already working for 3 years). Before I met my loved one and I was still a no boyfriend since birth gal, I was singing “Love Song for No one” on top of my lungs. I love more recent releases like Dreaming with a broken heart and Heartbreak Warfare. But even if those songs were so beautifully written, it can’t and it won’t topple down My Stupid Mouth.

My tongue is like a sword, my words cut to core. My Stupid Mouth.

ACCESSORIES HOLDER

Since I work for a company that sells accessories, naturally there are lots of scraps that can still be useful.
So I browsed through our stock room and saw a bracelet holder and ring holder all set aside in one corner.

I took them out and decided to revamp them.

I covered this with a cute wrapping paper that fits the theme of my roon.

Since I have lots of fabric in my room (I'm a chronic fabric buyer), I decided to cover this one with a vintage fabric cloth. It used to be covered with white leatherette but it was dirty already.

Now I have a new home for all the accessories I make.
:D

LMDV at VSC

Had a busy weekend. I was at The Village Sports Club for a Bazaar.
It was fun to be back at the South even for just a weekend.

Sorry if the photo is not clear since it was taken against the light.
I wore a V-Neck ribbed shirt from Terranova and Moss green shorts from Guess courtesy of Ann.

Do you see the outfit in front, that's part of the Urban Daydream collection that will be out  next week. Do visit my shop, LMDV for updates.

News Flash: BoC Eyes P700-M Revenues from Legal ‘Ukay-Ukay’

I've read about this from Manila Bulletin 2 days ago:

BoC Eyes P700-M Revenues from Legal ‘Ukay-Ukay’

Being a frequent Ukay shopper, it has never occured to me that Ukay is ilegal.
Why?
Quoting Davao Rep. Karlo Nograles who is also unaware that it is illegal:
“ukay-ukay” shops could be seen in almost all commercial centers in the country."

I have positive and negative reaction toward the said Ukay Tax being proposed.
Positive, I am happy because it will be legalized. I am not comfortable doing something illegal and I am not comfortable stopping buying from Ukay-Ukay too. Bulk of the clothes inside my closet are from such stores.
Negative, does this mean ukay clothes will be highly priced now?  Being the kuripot that I am, this really bothers me. Ukay stores located here in NCR already have high priced ukay stores. They sell dresses around Php180. I ca buy a brand new pair for that price. Considering that they are not properly cleaned. If it is properly cleaned and sorted, I would be willing to pay higher than that.
.
So give me your thoughts fellow thrift shoppers

White Party/ The Proposal

During our first night in Coron, we went to an island to have the White Party. Since I joined the trip last minute, I was not aware that such a thing will happen. Good thing I had a white shirt. Lol.

And of course, the main event...

The Proposal

I'm super excited for the both of them.

So here's Mae still caught in awe :)

Love is in the air...

WORK IT!

Casual Fridays at work again.

Well, I'm off to the Collective at Malugay later to have my favorite Seafood Pomodoro  at Pasta Box with my friend Pei.

While waiting for here, I tried via my Nokia E63, but it was an epic fail. Hehe..

So here's what I wore, jeans from Human. I love jeans from Human, they're lovely and cheap. :) They're on sale by the way. I'm thinking of getting a grey pants just for Php499.

And I got this thrifted D&G Knitted cardigan with built in sheer florat scarf. I love it! Just for Php149! Its authentic, I checked the tag ;) Well I hope it is. Even if its not, its still lovely for its price :)

Weekend's coming soon again. A long weekend at that. What are your plans?

EMERGENCY POST! BLOG ANNIVERSARY!

(photo from Morning Light in my room)

OMG! I totally forgot!
I was so focused on the anniversary of my Vintage-Inspired store that I forgot about my own blog!

Anyway, it was last August 11, 2009 that I did my first post. It was my little brother's birthday then.
Anyway, how time flies.

Well, I suppose I should celebrate or something
I know most bloggers celebrate with a giveaway, but given that I only have 10 followers, that won't be practical.

What do you think? Should I do it?
